Masia Sagué

 

Founded in 1919, Masia Sagué a family run operation, is based in the hills, fifty kilometres from Barcelona. Their wines and cavas are produced with the emphasis on quality over quantity. The Manuel de Cabanyes Reserva and Crianza are named after the romantic poet whose picture appears on the label.

Masia Sagué Manuel de Cabanyes Crianza 1999

A blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet and Merlot, with fifteen months barrel ageing. Only 1,000 cases are made each year. Masia Sagué Manuel de Cabanyes Reserva 1997

Flagship wine from Masia Sagué, using the best grapes from the best part of the vineyard, then aged in oak for eighteen months.


Masia Sagué Blanc de Blancs 2003

A combination of three grape varieties, Xarello, Parellada and Macabeo. Spicy tones, crisp apple flavours and a twist of lemon produce an interestingly complex wine with character and style. Featured in The Best of Wine Guide in Ireland.

Masia Sagué Rosé 2003

Excellent dry rosé, with bright and vibrant summer fruits, made from tempranillo, cabernet and merlot.


Masia Sagué Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature

Aged for 3 to 4 years in the cellar before release, this sparkler is in the traditional style with earthy, yeasty influences and complex, toasty apple fruit. Very complex for the price, Featured in The Best of Wine Guide in Ireland.
